The difference between Modern Standard (MSA) and Arabic Lebanese Arabic is simple.

– Lebanese Arabic is a dialect of Levantine Arabic mostly used in Lebanon. It is predominantly a spoken language, while Modern Standard Arabic is usually used in formal writing.

–  Lebanese Arabic  dialect is spoken between people casually, and is also used in informal written communication, e.g. messages. MSA, on the other hand, is written and used officially.

– Lebanese Arabic  dialect has a distinct syllable structure to Modern Standard Arabic. While MSA can have only one consonant at the beginning of a syllable, after which a vowel must follow, this is not true for the Lebanese Arabic  dialect which commonly has two consonants in the onset.

– Lebanese speakers use the Latin letters in addition to Arabic letters in their informal chats as they find it easier. This is not the case for MSA.

– Lebanese people speak English and French. Therefore, thy use some foreign words in their dialects.
